Job Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Lewis Crane and Hoist. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Performs minor and major repairs on trucks, trailers, other equipment
• Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
• Collaborates with Supervisor to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
• Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
• Responsible for repairing, modifying and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles.
• Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions
• Ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant to include brake maintenance
• Completes all required daily reporting as required
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Adheres to safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

Knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine Knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools Excellent problem-solving skills A valid driver's license Good interpersonal skills Effective collaboration and communication skills

• 1+ years of diesel mechanic experience
• Vocational or Technical mechanic certification (preferred)
• A valid driver's license is required, and, must either possess a CDL or have the ability to obtain a CDL license (required)
• ASE Certifications (preferred)
• A positive attitude
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic mathematics
• Sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.

on occasion and up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.

Pay:

$19.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
