Bailey Bark Materials, Inc. has been in operation since 1983. Family owned and operated, we are dedicated to giving our customers high quality material at a very competitive price. We are a complete bark mulch supply company offering a wide variety of products, including compost, fresh sawdust, shavings, crushed concrete, and more. We strive to offer our customers quality products, affordable prices, and exemplary service. We are now accepting applications for an experienced Diesel Mechanic. This is a full-time position and the candidate must be willing to work overtime as needed. Responsible for performing skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel heavy trucks, trailers, front end loaders, grinders and forklifts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of heavy equipment. Diagnose, repair and maintain various types of heavy equipment and their components. Inspect, repair and adjust diesel power units, hydraulic systems, injection valves and associated systems. Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles including install/replace or adjust filters, belts, brake components, change fluids or similar items necessary to maintain equipment. Observe or monitor equipment/vehicle operation to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards and diagnose defects. Completing forms to record or report information as specified by the form (repair orders, inspections, etc.)
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: High school diploma or GED. 2 years of experience working with heavy equipment prefered. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, interpret/communicate repair manual/procedure content. Excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to pay close attention to detail, and the ability to perform while multitasking. Ability to read, interpret and communicate equipment manufacturer and repair documents, operating instructions, specification sheets. Ability to learn and utilize diagnostic equipment. Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others in person and on the phone. Ability to perform duties with moderate direct supervision Ability to work effectively with team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb in and out of truck/equipment cabs, onto truck beds, and onto trailers. May have to occasionally kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift, carry and /or move up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
