We're a structural steel fabrication company seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to keep our trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. Job Summary The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous production operations. This position requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to keep equipment in safe, reliable condition. Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other major components. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage logs. Collaborate with operations staff to schedule and prioritize repairs. Keep work area clean, safe, and organized. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems . Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic reports. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and work in outdoor or shop environments.
