Overview At CASS we are a family owned trucking company/repair shop in Riesel, TX We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and diesel repair, with experience in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Mechanic will work on a variety of vehicles, we have our own fleet of trucks needing to be maintained as well as outside work coming in our shop. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems. Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components. Execute alignment adjustments, brake repairs, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system maintenance. Operate equipment safely during repair processes as needed. Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle or equipment needs. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the shop. Qualifications Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within automotive or heavy equipment repair. Having your own tools is preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and fabrication skills. Ability to lift heavy objects safely as part of the job requirements. Electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting complex systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
