With a strong foundation rooted in military experience and government contracting, we are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality services to our clients. Overview we are hiring a diesel mechanic helper assists experienced diesel mechanics in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, performing routine maintenance, and supporting workshop operations at LAFB San Antonio . Key Responsibilities
  • Assist diesel mechanics in repairing and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles, including trucks, generators, and heavy equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and lubrication of parts
  • Help diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and by observing vehicle performance
  • Assist in the removal, installation, and reassembly of engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment, including lifts, air compressors, and welding tools.
  • Assist in ordering, inventorying, and tracking parts and supplies.
  • Complete repair and maintenance records and reports under supervision. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of diesel engine mechanics and vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or prior mechanic experience.
  • Valid commercial driver's license preferred. Work Environment
  • Typically works in a garage, workshop, or industrial setting.
  • Physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, noise, grease, and diesel fumes are common.

Pay:
Up to $25.00 per hour
