Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including diesel engines, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership repairs and fabrication is highly valued. The Equipment Diesel Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably to support our operations. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC components on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and trailers Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and general vehicle servicing Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and soldering techniques Operate power tools and specialized equipment safely to complete repairs efficiently Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used Assist in assembly and disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician; dealership experience is preferred Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components Proficiency with schematics, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques Experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or internal teams regarding repairs or maintenance needs Valid technical certifications or training related to automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance is a plus This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse machinery in a dynamic setting while utilizing your technical expertise.
