Job Description
Scales Construction, a family-owned concrete and earthwork construction company established in 1960 is looking for a mechanic to work in their shop. This position would include diagnosing and performing mechanic duties for a small fleet of Ford Trucks, several Mack Semis, and a variety of heavy and light equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and perform repairs to diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspensions, brakes, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment Perform repairs and maintenance to vehicles and equipment toensure the safest outcome
- Complete work orders in a timely manner
- Source parts and perform minor data entry
- Multi-task, and follow procedures
- Communicate with owners safety concerns, cost and status of in-shop and outsourced repairs
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years mechanic experience
- Valid drivers license (CDL preferred, but not required)
- Clean driving record
- Personal mechanic tools
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
