Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and reliable, supporting various industrial, agricultural, and construction operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about heavy equipment maintenance. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers and engines. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Inspect and service industrial equipment including HVAC systems, shocks & struts, alignment systems, and tire services to ensure safety and efficiency. Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, and hydraulic system checks. Utilize electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues and perform electrical repairs on heavy machinery. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and service schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. At least 4 years. Dealership experience or equivalent background preferred; familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins and Freightliner. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brakes. Skilled in reading schematics and using diagnostic software for automotive diagnostics. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
