In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various industries including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other industrial equipment using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes. Replace or repair components including brakes, suspensions, tires, transmissions, HVAC systems, and steering mechanisms while adhering to safety standards. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on farm machinery, industrial equipment, heavy trucks (tractor-trailers), and construction machinery. Maintain detailed service records and complete all documentation related to repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately. Operate heavy equipment safely during troubleshooting or repair procedures when necessary. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and repair. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for electrical systems and heavy equipment troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Familiarity with OEM parts and specifications for Caterpillar, Farm Machinery, Construction Equipment, or similar brands. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding apparatus effectively. Knowledge of HVAC systems on heavy machinery along with electrical diagnostics skills. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance during all repair activities. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions.
