Job Description
Rapid Prep | Suffolk, VA $23-$32 per hour, based on experience Full-time | In person Rapid Prep is a growing national company serving the surface preparation, dust collection, and environmental industries. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Service Technician to join our Suffolk team. This work will be both in the shop and in the field, servicing equipment at client sites. If you have experience working with diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatic equipment, industrial machinery, construction equipment, generators, forklifts, or similar equipment, we want to hear from you. You do not need to know every piece of equipment we work with. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical fundamentals, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn the surface preparation industry. What You'll Do Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues Complete equipment improvements and upgrades Sand, prime, paint, repair, and prepare equipment as needed Perform routine diesel maintenance, including oil and fuel filter changes Assist with loading and unloading equipment and deliveries Operate forklifts and other shop equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop Assist with service work at customer locations as needed What We're Looking For Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience working with equipment Basic knowledge of hand tools and ability to provide your own basic hand tools Ability to operate forklifts and shop equipment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed Ability to wear a half-mask, two-cartridge respirator Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to meet customer-site access requirements, including government facilities Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn Strongly Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in most of the following areas may qualify toward the higher end of the $23-$32/hour pay range: Industrial maintenance or industrial equipment repair Electrical systems and controls, including AC/DC components from 120V-480V Diesel engines and routine diesel maintenance PTO adjustment and repair Hydraulic systems Compressed air and pneumatic systems Electric and diesel-powered drive systems Basic welding Industrial or construction equipment Benefits 401(k) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Why Rapid Prep?
