Job Description

About Us:
Butler's Towing & Repair is a premier heavy-duty towing and diesel repair facility conveniently located directly off Route 460—a major truck route in Waverly, VA. Because of our strategic location on this heavy commercial corridor, we see a massive volume of commercial traffic and stay consistently busy. We pride ourselves on keeping our customers' fleets and transient owner-operators on the road when they need it most. We are currently looking for a high-level, master diesel technician to anchor our shop and lead our mobile road service operations. If you are a heavy-hitter when it comes to diagnostics and tear-downs, we have the steady hours, the equipment, and the compensation to make this your long-term home.
Compensation & Benefits:
Sign-On Bonus for qualified master-level technicians.
Highly Competitive Pay:
Salary heavily based on experience. We pay top dollar for top talent—if you have the skills, we have the budget.
Performance Perks:
Overtime availability, road-call premiums, and efficiency bonuses fueled by high traffic volume.
Shop Perks:
Uniforms provided, parts and service discounts, and a shop environment that respects your expertise. Paid time off and holidays.
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and heavy repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and heavy equipment. Operate our fully-equipped mobile service truck for emergency road calls along the busy 460 corridor and surrounding areas. Diagnose and repair major diesel platforms, with a heavy focus on Cummins, PACCAR (Kenworth/Peterbilt), and Ford Power Stroke engines. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues, aftertreatment/emissions systems (DPF/DEF), air brakes, and drivelines. Provide leadership and mentorship in the shop, maintaining high standards for safety and repair quality. What You Need to
Bring:
Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in heavy-duty diesel repair (Master, Tier 3, or Tier 4 equivalent highly preferred).
Diagnostic Skills:
Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex engine, electrical, and emissions codes using modern scan tools and software.
Mobility:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. (A valid CDL is a massive plus for road service and towing operations).
Tools:
Must possess a comprehensive, professional-grade toolset suitable for heavy-duty repair.
Certifications:
ASE T-Series certifications are highly valued but not strictly required if you have the proven field experience. Why Butler's Towing & Repair? We aren't a corporate dealership tangled in red tape. We are a busy, privately-owned operation positioned right on a major trucking artery, meaning your hard work directly translates to a steady, reliable paycheck. You'll get a variety of work between the bay and the road, and you'll be treated like the professional you are.

Submit your resume or a summary of your experience and let's talk about getting you in the shop.
