Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated In-House Fleet/Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of Tow trucks and service vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operational needs across various departments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of machinery and tools in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to keep vehicles and equipment in optimal condition. Fabricate parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and inspections while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and overhaul of various equipment components ensuring proper functioning before deployment. Support heavy lifting operations and perform welding or fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repair or customization. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician with experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and automotive repair including brake repair and engine overhaul. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to interpret technical manuals accurately. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle maintenance including air brake systems and hydraulic safety procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members regarding repair status or technical issues.
