HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

CivilWorks NW, Inc. — Brush Prairie, WA $34-$45/hour DOE CivilWorks NW is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our construction equipment, trucks and fleet. This position is ideal for a mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, fixing equipment correctly and keeping a construction fleet working. Our equipment supports active underground utility and site-development crews, so reliability and response time matter. What you'll work on Excavators Loaders Dozers Skid steers Dump trucks Heavy-duty trucks Trailers Construction support equipment Hydraulic systems Diesel engines and fuel systems Electrical systems What you'll do Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems Perform preventive maintenance Repair and maintain heavy construction equipment Repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks and trailers Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns Perform inspections and document repairs Identify parts and materials needed for repairs Communicate equipment issues with management and field crews Respond to equipment issues in the field when necessary Keep the shop, tools and work areas organized Help maintain accurate maintenance records What we're looking for 3+ years of heavy diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with construction equipment strongly preferred Diesel engine experience Hydraulic system experience Electrical troubleshooting experience Ability to work independently Valid driver's license CDL is a plus but not required Welding/fabrication experience is a plus What CivilWorks NW offers $34-$45/hour depending on experience Medical insurance — company-paid premium Dental insurance — company-paid premium 401(k) plan Paid time off Overtime opportunities Year-round work Stable local construction company Variety of equipment and repair work Opportunity to work both in the shop and in the field
