Job Overview We are seeking an experienced A Level Diesel/Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers and other machinery, providing top-tier vehicle maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic skills for modern diesel engines and aftertreatment systems. Navigation of laptop diagnostic programs, skilled in suspension repairs, hydraulic systems, trailer repairs and overall drivability of commercial trucks. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on modern diesel engines, heavy trucks, and industrial equipment using laptop diagnostic programs. Conduct vehicle maintenance including brake repairs, suspension work, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, and tire services. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed. Diagnose electrical systems including automotive electrical systems repair and HVAC components on heavy trucks. Repair transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, steering systems, and other mechanical systems with precision. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all work complies with safety standards. Assist in heavy lifting operations and perform equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Qualifications Proven experience as a-level diesel or heavy truck mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex mechanical systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems repair, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate power tools efficiently. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures such as tire service, brake repair and suspension alignment.
