Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy-duty diesel- and gas-powered equipment, including trucks, cars and bus, and buildings. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and specialized power tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, shocks & struts replacement, and equipment lubrication to keep machinery in optimal condition. Repair and overhaul heavy equipment including buses vans, cranes, forklifts, other machinery, and building equipment by utilizing fabrication skills and welding techniques when necessary. Troubleshoot electrical systems for heavy duty buses and machinery; repair or replace faulty wiring, sensors, switches, and electronic modules to ensure proper vehicle operation. Use technical schematics and manuals to accurately assemble or disassemble vehicle systems during repairs or upgrades. Perform preventative maintenance inspections on vehicle fleets and industrial equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate. Assist in heavy lifting operations using appropriate safety procedures; perform welding and soldering tasks for component repairs or modifications. Requirements Proven experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and vehicle electrical systems. Hands-on experience with fabricating metal parts using welding equipment; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately; proficient in automotive diagnostics software. Experience working with heavy duty equipment. Knowledge of heavy bus repair procedures including air brake systems and wheel alignments. Skilled in vehicle maintenance routines such as tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, and general equipment repair. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working with hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to communicating repair needs clearly and professionally.
