Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industrial, agricultural, and transportation operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, including farm machinery, construction vehicles, and fleet trucks, in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive service. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools and welding techniques to meet specific repair or operational needs. Replace or repair brake systems, alignments, tires, suspensions, and hydraulics to uphold safety standards. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify functionality post-maintenance. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components during major repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals; familiarity with Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar brands is a plus. Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning), and electrical systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques. Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Ability to perform tire service and wheel alignments; knowledge of vehicle maintenance best practices. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance procedures.
