In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting heavy construction equipment, including tractors, dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, Excavators, Dozers, skid steers across various routes. Your skills in route planning, load handling, and compliance with federal and state regulations will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our commitment to safety and excellence. Duties Load and unload heavy equipment using manual handling techniques or forklifts, ensuring secure cargo handling in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met and document any maintenance or repair needs. Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to the transportation of dangerous goods. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or unforeseen issues during transit. Requirements Valid CDL license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers or similar commercial trucks preferred. Must have experience hauling equipment Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently; experience with manual handling equipment like forklifts is a plus. Strong route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation systems; familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes essential. Excellent manual handling skills for loading/unloading heavy equipment safely; experience with freight handling is desirable. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
