Diesel Mechanic Essential Duties:

Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations. Performs preventive maintenance on underground diesel mining equipment. Replaces parts on a scheduled basis. Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools. Troubleshoots, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and replaces, repairs or rebuilds. Uses blueprints and follows manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs and any rebuilds. Operate equipment to diagnose problems. Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Background in repair and maintenance of underground diesel equipment. Ability to use prints and manuals. Understanding of hydraulics. Electrical systems. Diagnostic skills. Properties of various fuels and oils. Proper lifting / handling materials. Lock and tag-out procedures. Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.

Education, Qualifications and Training:
