Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various sectors including construction, agriculture, and industrial operations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing schematics and troubleshooting guides to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Assist in the assembly of new machinery or equipment components following manufacturer specifications and schematics. Perform routine inspections such as tire service, brake repair, suspension checks, alignment adjustments, HVAC servicing, and general vehicle maintenance to prevent downtime. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment servicing is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, and HVAC systems. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment for automotive and industrial repairs. Experience working with OEM parts for Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar brands; familiarity with construction machinery maintenance is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients about repair needs and timelines.
