Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines and mechanical problems. Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections. Repair brakes, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems. Troubleshoot and repair garbage truck hydraulic and compactor systems. Complete oil changes, tire repairs, and general maintenance. Keep trucks safe, reliable, and ready for daily routes. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Requirements Diesel mechanic or heavy-truck repair experience preferred. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Must be dependable and able to work independently. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus.
