Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including transportation, construction, agriculture, and industrial operations. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and other heavy equipment systems using schematics and electronic testing tools. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, alignment checks, and fluid top-offs to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency. Repair and overhaul diesel engines, including troubleshooting issues related to shocks & struts, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, welding repairs, soldering tasks, and fabrication projects. Use hand tools and power tools proficiently to disassemble, assemble, and repair machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed; interpret schematics for precise troubleshooting. Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment; perform welding and fabrication work as needed for custom repairs or modifications. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and ensuring timely completion of service orders. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to read technical manuals accurately. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; skilled in using power tools safely. Mechanical knowledge covering transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, shocks & struts. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; strong attention to detail in vehicle maintenance and assembly tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to equipment repair and maintenance. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
