GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Provides the technical skills and abilities required to give AECC a soundly constructed, reliable power delivery system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technician Apprentice Participates in the installation, maintenance, and testing programs for AECC's or Member Cooperatives' substations, transmission lines, and delivery points. Under direct supervision, reads and documents substation data. Visually inspect equipment at each meter location and report problems. Maintains and uses test equipment and tools used for testing, construction and maintenance. Under direct supervision, performs tests on AECC's or member cooperatives' system using AECC's test equipment and procedures. Under direct supervision assembles, installs, tests, calibrates and maintains meters, relays, communication, control, stored energy, lighting, climate control, transformers, switches, breakers, regulators, communications equipment, transmission lines, and associated systems. Assists with the inspection, use and maintenance of AECC's mobile substations. Assists other AECC personnel, AECI personnel, and Member Cooperatives' personnel, upon request, with tasks relating to this area of responsibility and assists them in the performance of their duties in times of need. Participates in safety meetings, tailboard safety session and implements safety in the work area. Participates in coordinating the installation of parts and supplies used for construction and maintenance. The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job. Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONT'D

Tecnhician I

• II Acts as AECC's on site representative to oversee the construction, testing and repair of AECC's capital substation and transmission construction and maintenance projects.

Inspects wiring, electrical circuits, foundations, steel, power equipment and other construction assembly units during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to specifications and codes. Has knowledge of test equipment and tools used for construction, operations, testing and maintenance of substation equipment including breakers, transformers, regulators, switches and transmission lines. Measures dimensions and verifies level, alignment, or elevation of structures or fixtures to ensure compliance to building plans and codes. Maintains daily logs and supplement inspection records to track construction/contractor progress, weather delays, and other pertinent information relevant to construction contracts. Reviews and interprets plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to AECC construction specifications, legal requirements and safety standards. Instructs and trains technician helpers on technical, operational and safety standards. Assists with safety meetings on a monthly basis, including technical topics. Implements safety in the work area. Has thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction industry safety standards, as well as AECC safety standards. Ensures that safety requirements are adhered to on assigned construction projects. Tracks all field revisions and mark ups to assist with record updating process and "As Built" drafting record drawings. Performs directed switching with written switching orders. Uses EAMS to track work requests, work orders, requisitions, time cards, etc. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Technician Apprentice

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technician I
• High School Diploma or GED, plus 3 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technician II
• Associate Degree in Electronics, Civil/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus at least 3 years related experience and/or training, Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Technician Apprentice Valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain Class A CDL within 12 months of employment. EEI Position Testing will be conducted as part of the selection process. Technician I Valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain Class A CDL within 12 months of employment. EEI Position Testing will be conducted as part of the selection process. Technician II CDL license required ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician (or ability to obtain within 12 months) OSHA #510

• 30 HR Construction Industry Card (or ability to obtain within 3 months) EEI Position Testing will be conducted as part of the selection process.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Technician Apprentice Associate degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology. Apprentice experience working for journeyman electrician, industrial electrician, or master electrician. Technician I Associate Degree in Electronics, Civil/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent. Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License is also desirable. CDL license preferred ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician license preferred Technician II Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License.

Technician I Keeps supervisor informed at all times of matters important to the cooperative, particularly when member cooperatives or other power suppliers are involved. standards and processes. Successful completion of prescribed NLC course lessons in Power Delivery Department training program or other prescribed training program as required. Technician II Must have knowledge of substation equipment including: relays and control circuits, power equipment, metering and communications, substation/ transmission line construction. Ability to correctly identify and understand the operation of all equipment in substations and participate in construction projects without supervision.
