Job Description
Job Summary The Powersports Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of a variety of types of Powersports brands. Additional job responsibilities are outlined below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manuals
- Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process
- Safely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services (ATVs, Motorcycles, Side x sides, etc.)
- Resolve electrical and mechanical issues
- Help the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.
- Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done Position Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Small Engine Mechanics (Powersports experience strongly preferred)
- High School Degree required
- 2-year technical degree within mechanics field preferred
- Must currently have or be willing to obtain a valid motorcycle license
- Candidate must have or be willing to obtain OEM certifications
- Ownership of necessary tools
- Electronic diagnostic ability
- Ability to perform all tasks without supervision
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to use a computer and various types of diagnostic equipment
