We're a high-caliber transmission and torque converter facility known for precision, integrity, and excellence. We're hiring an experienced Transmission Builder who takes pride in clean, reliable work and wants to be part of a tight-knit team that values quality over shortcuts. Role Overview As our Transmission Builder , you'll be responsible for the complete disassembly, inspection, rebuilding, and testing of automatic transmissions. You'll work in a clean, well-equipped area with the support of a knowledgeable team and a steady flow of work. This is a specialized role that demands mechanical expertise, focus, and a drive for continuous growth. Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, you'll have the opportunity to grow into a senior builder or technical lead role. Key Responsibilities Disassemble and inspect automatic transmissions for wear and damage Thoroughly clean components using appropriate methods and equipment Rebuild transmissions to OEM or custom performance specs Measure and adjust clearances, end-play, and other critical tolerances Use precision tools including micrometers, dial indicators, and specialty jigs Perform quality control on every unit before reinstallation or delivery Maintain a clean and organized bench and parts area Collaborate with service advisors and teammates to ensure accuracy and timeliness Document build details, specs, and any issues found Stay current with evolving transmission models and best practices What We're Looking For 3+ years of professional experience rebuilding transmissions (preferred) High mechanical aptitude and pride in quality workmanship Ability to diagnose, rebuild, and test independently Experience with domestic and import units preferred Strong problem-solving and communication skills Clean, organized, and safety-minded work habits Ability to lift heavy components and operate shop equipment safely Basic toolset; specialty tools and equipment provided
