We are looking for a hands-on Critical Environment Energization Technician to support power installation and validation activities inside data centers. This role is responsible for installing, connecting, testing, and organizing electrical power components that keep servers and critical technology equipment running safely and reliably. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in active data center environments, following strict safety procedures, and performing physically demanding work. Overall, the role is highly hands-on and physically active, combining electrical installation, data center infrastructure deployment, power testing, and operational safety in a fast-paced environment. Training is expected during the first month to six weeks before deployment volumes ramp up.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting large-scale data center deployment projects, with potential for significant team growth. Performing energization and deployment work for newly constructed data center sites. Completing up to 60 rack deployments per day, with a requirement to finish deployments within a 12-hour SLA once started. Installing and replacing tap boxes (advanced electrical distribution equipment) and supporting power infrastructure. Preparing, staging, labeling, routing, and installing power whips from tap boxes to rack power distribution units (RPDUs/PMDUs). Conducting power validation, failover testing, and grounding activities to ensure redundant and reliable power delivery. Troubleshooting power and electrical issues and providing on-call deployment support. Maintaining site cleanliness and safety by removing debris, managing cabling, and ensuring clear egress paths. Safely operating equipment such as MEWPs and rolling stairs while working in critical-space environments.
