- The
- Utility Tool & Testing Technician
- is a hands-on role responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, refurbishing, and assembling specialized equipment used throughout the electric utility industry.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stringing Blocks
- + Perform inspection, sorting, repair, refurbishment, and functional testing of stringing blocks, travelers, and associated stringing equipment used in the electric utility industry.
- Fiberglass Equipment
- + Inspect, repair, refurbish, and test fiberglass hot sticks, temporary conductor supports, and other fiberglass utility equipment in accordance with ASTM standards.
- Rubber Goods Testing
- + Inspect, clean, test, and certify rubber insulating goods, including gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hose, and covers in accordance with ASTM standards.
- Tool Repair & Calibration
- + Inspect, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and test hydraulic, pneumatic, battery-powered, gas-powered, and manual tools used in the electric utility industry.
- Grounding & Bonding Cables
- + Assemble, repair, and test temporary grounding and bonding cable assemblies used in electrical utility applications.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Working Conditions
- + Attendance - The ability to work an 8 hour workday as scheduled with punctual attendance, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary to meet business demands. + Indoor and outdoor work environment + May be exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.
- Physical Requirements
- + Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
