Job Description
The Level B Technician works independently on full vehicle builds from start to finish. You own your bay and your build
- executing complete law enforcement, fire, or EMS conversions with minimal supervision. You are the engine of the shop floor: comfortable with complex wiring, multiplexing systems, and interior fabrication, and capable of training and mentoring Level C techs alongside you. Reports to Director of Operations

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute complete emergency vehicle builds end-to-end per customer specifications and build sheets Install and wire advanced emergency lighting systems including SoundOff Signal, Federal Signal, and Whelen packages Install and configure multiplex controllers (e.g., SoundOff bluePRINT, Federal Signal iCan) Wire and install siren controllers, speakers, air horns, and PA systems Install consoles, command cabinets, laptop mounts, radio mounts, and prisoner partitions Perform 12-volt electrical work including power distribution, circuit protection, and grounding Read and execute wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation blueprints independently Conduct full quality inspections on completed builds covering function, aesthetics, and safety Identify and troubleshoot installation issues before and after delivery Train and guide Level C technicians assigned to your bay Coordinate with shop supervisor on build schedules and parts requirementsSKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of automotive electrical or emergency vehicle upfitting experience EVT Level 1 certification required (Level 2 preferred); company will support advancement Proficiency with 12/24-volt automotive electrical systems — power distribution and CAN bus basics Experience with major lighting brands: SoundOff Signal, Whelen, Federal Signal, Code 3 Ability to read and execute complex wiring schematics without supervision Fabrication skills: console and cabinet installation, custom mounting, interior trim work Familiarity with Ford Police Interceptor, Chevy Tahoe/Silverado, and Ram platforms preferred Valid driver's license; ability to safely operate vehicles within the facility Strong attention to detail and professional pride in build qualityGROWTH PATH EVT
