50%+ Position Overview We are seeking experienced NETA-Certified Field Technicians (Level II, III, or IV) for an opportunity with an established electrical power systems services organization This position is ideal for technicians with hands-on experience testing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment and substations . Candidates will work on critical electrical infrastructure across utility, industrial, renewable energy, battery storage, and other power-intensive environments. Position level and compensation will be based on NETA certification level and applicable field experience . Key Responsibilities Perform electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting on medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
Test and evaluate equipment including:
Protective relays and relay systems Circuit breakers Power transformers Current transformers (CTs) and potential transformers (PTs) Switchgear Power cables Grounding systems Motors and motor starters Station batteries and chargers Meters, transducers, and power-system metering Alarm systems and annunciators Electrical safety and protective equipment Troubleshoot electrical system problems and identify equipment deficiencies or failures. Recommend corrective actions and repairs based on testing results. Prepare accurate technical reports documenting testing performed, deficiencies identified, and recommended corrective actions. Communicate professionally with customers, project teams, and field leadership. Coordinate with management regarding project progress, scheduling, manpower, and equipment requirements. Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintain a strong safety-first approach in the field. Required Qualifications Current NETA Certification Level II, III, or IV is
REQUIRED.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in the high-voltage electrical industry . Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology preferred, or equivalent high-voltage field experience. Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical fundamentals. Working knowledge of medium- and high-voltage substations and major substation components. Experience with electrical control and protection systems. Knowledge of protective relaying and electrical testing practices. Understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NETA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA . Knowledge of grounding systems and ground-grid principles. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and substation construction documents. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Additional Requirements Must be willing to travel at least 50% . Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical examination. Must be willing to participate in random drug screening. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as project needs require. Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
