Mesa is seeking an experienced Senior Designer for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Design within the US Power industry. The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineered physical designs for construction of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 4kV to 500kV. As a Senior Designer, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of Physical Substation design and able to lead and or review design projects from conceptual through completion of constructible substation design. Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD would be considered a requirement. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required. A working knowledge of Project Management workflow including scope and proposal development would be a plus.
Education/Experience:
A minimal educational requirement of an associate degree (preferred) 8+ years of experience working in the power utility industry
Responsibilities:
Perform Physical Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality) Work well as a team member as well as individually Use AutoCAD / BlueBeam to create/review the assigned deliverables Interact with the Customer leading the physical effort and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements Review work of other team members Attend site walkdowns as required Perform work safely. This opportunity is for a remote position that will turn into a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Chicago, IL or the St. Louis, MO area.
