POSITION SUMMARY

Triumph Oil Tools is seeking a mechanically inclined and dependable Power Tong Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing the full scope of assigned power tong work, including inspection, disassembly, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, reassembly, testing preparation, parts handling, painting, and related shop duties. The position requires a self-motivated individual who can take ownership of projects from start to finish, solve problems, work independently, and work effectively with the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect, disassemble, repair, maintain, and reassemble tubing, casing, and rod power tongs. Complete assigned power tong repair and maintenance projects from start to finish. Read and understand equipment manuals, diagrams, and technical information required to complete work. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic problems and determine appropriate repair solutions. Identify and understand power tong parts and components. Learn shop parts locations and accurately pick parts and prepare customer orders. Deliver orders and parts as required. Perform equipment preparation and painting as required. Operate forklifts when trained and authorized. Operate overhead cranes when trained and authorized. Use hydraulic knowledge to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and assemble equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work independently and take responsibility for assigned projects while also working effectively with others. Work efficiently in a high-paced environment while maintaining safe work practices and quality workmanship. Safely lift and handle materials, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 lb.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Mechanically inclined with strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Power tong experience with tubing, casing, and/or rod tongs is an asset. Hydraulic knowledge and experience. Ability to learn, understand, and apply information from equipment manuals. Valid driver's licence. Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects. Ability to work well with others in a shop environment. Ability to work at a high pace while maintaining safety and quality. Painting experience is an asset. Forklift experience is an asset. Overhead crane experience is an asset. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lb.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-Time:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Overtime will be required when needed.
