The Opportunity We are seeking a Lead Protection and Control Technician who thrives in complex environments, leads with confidence, and brings hands-on expertise to missioncritical projects. In this role, you'll take ownership of commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting advanced protective relaying schemes across generation, transmission, and distribution substations. What You'll Do Lead commissioning, installation, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, DFRs, SCADA systems, and automation systems. Perform advanced endtoend relay testing using Doble Protection Suite, Omicron Test Universe, and RTS.
Execute functional and scheme testing:
reclosing, breaker failure, advanced logic, and communicationassisted protection schemes. Troubleshoot and optimize protocols including DNP3, Modbus, 8979, using tools such as Wireshark, Accelerator, and
ASE 2000.
Develop and refine standardized commissioning and testing procedures. Mentor junior technicians and oversee field execution for safety and quality. Partner with clients, vendors, and engineering teams to deliver worldclass reliability. Preferred Experience 5+ years field experience in relay testing, calibration, and substation commissioning without direct supervision. Expertise in threephase power systems, protection schemes, and SCADA integration. Proficiency with Omicron, Doble, Vanguard, and related test equipment. Skilled in RTS, Test Universe, Protection Suite, and Accelerator. Strong leadership, problemsolving, and communication skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel. Why Join Telex?
