Role Description The NETA Technician (II-IV) is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX. In this position, the technician performs electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power systems and related equipment in accordance with NETA standards and GEI procedures. Daily responsibilities may include conducting field inspections, executing acceptance and maintenance tests on switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control systems, and documenting test results in detailed reports. The technician collaborates with engineers and other technical staff to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and support system commissioning and outages. The role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, professional interaction with clients, and occasional travel to customer sites. Qualifications Experience with electrical power systems, including testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, and associated equipment. Knowledge of NETA standards, electrical codes, and industry best practices for field testing and safety. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Strong technical reporting skills, including accurate data recording and clear written communication. Commitment to safety, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard recognition. NETA certification at Level II, III, or IV preferred; other relevant certifications (NICET, OSHA, etc.) are beneficial. Relevant technical education such as an associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in electrical or power systems. Capability to work on-site, travel to customer locations as needed, and perform tasks that may require standing, lifting, and working in industrial environments. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for field assignments.
