BODEC, Inc. is an EPC contractor specializing in power infrastructure projects throughout the western United States. Our teams construct substations, switchyards, transmission and distribution systems, and other critical electrical infrastructure for utility, industrial, mining, and renewable energy clients. We are seeking an experienced Substation Technician with at least three years of medium- and high-voltage experience to join our field operations team based out of San Antonio, TX. This is a substation-focused position. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience installing and working with medium- and high-voltage substation equipment. Experienced linemen looking to transition their utility experience into dedicated substation work are encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Construct, modify, maintain, and support commissioning of medium- and high-voltage substations and switchyards. Install transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, bus systems, grounding systems, control panels, relays, and associated substation equipment. Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot power, control, and communication wiring. Perform work on electrical systems and equipment ranging from 4.16kV through 345kV. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and construction documents. Assist with testing, commissioning, energization, and startup activities. Install and maintain grounding systems and associated substation infrastructure. Perform quality inspections to verify work meets project specifications and customer requirements. Coordinate with Project Supervisors, Project Managers, customers, contractors, and other field personnel. Mentor and assist Apprentices and less experienced crew members. Participate in job hazard analyses, safety meetings, and daily work planning. Safely operate company vehicles, equipment, and tools. What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of hands-on substation, switchyard, or medium/high-voltage electrical experience. Experience installing and working around medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment. Experience with transformers, breakers, switches, bus, grounding systems, control wiring, or similar substation equipment. Strong understanding of utility construction practices and electrical safety procedures. Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and construction documents. Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. Class B CDL preferred; Class A CDL is a plus. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. Ability to travel up to 75% throughout the western United States. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended schedules as project demands require. Ability to perform physically demanding field work, including lifting 75+ pounds and working outdoors in varying conditions. Pay:

$48.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
