Join a dedicated team in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a UPS Technician III, where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related battery systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for critical power infrastructure. Responsibilities Perform UPS system replacements, new installations, startups, and certifications. Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS and battery systems with minimal supervision. Install, diagnose, repair, and commission all types of UPS systems and related equipment. Lead project teams, providing guidance and support to crew members of varying skill levels. Collaborate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Operate and maintain equipment such as UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers. Communicate clearly with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management, and clients. Assess manpower and material requirements for maintenance and installation services. Estimate consumables and connectivity parts needed for project completion. Monitor crew productivity and safety, taking action when necessary to maintain a safe and effective work environment. Foster a positive team environment and contribute to a culture of cooperation and high morale. Train and mentor less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Travel up to 50% to other job sites as required. Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of experience servicing UPS systems. Technical experience with electrical and mechanical systems related to UPS, DC systems, and familiarity with major OEMs (e.g., Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, Emerson). Knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, and oscilloscopes. Understanding of proper use of isolation devices, arc-flash suits, and PPE. Competency in series, parallel, and series-parallel connections. Ability to interpret torque values, apply torque marks, and visually inspect completed installations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. OSHA 30-hour certification.
