Day-to-Day :

Our client is seeking a Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Technician to join a large telecommunications contractor. This role is 100% travel, with all expenses covered by the company. You will travel to Nashville, TN for the next 1-2 months, and then be sent to Atlanta GA, where work is expected to be for the next 1-2 years. Long-term, you will sit in the DMV area as the company is expecting work local the DC-area for the next 5-10 years.

Daily responsibilities are as follows:

Install and manage telecom cabling in central office, head end, and shelter environments Pull, lace, and organize cables following telecom and data room standards Install and terminate Cat5/Cat6 cabling Perform rack and stack installations of telecom equipment Assist with fiber installation and head end buildouts Install and support DC power systems, battery backup systems, and power distribution equipment Work with telecom equipment built to central office standards

Required Skills & Experience :

2+ years of experience as a cable, telecom, or DC power technician Experience in central office and/or head end environments

Knowledge of:

Cable pulling and lacing Data room standards Rack and stack installations Fiber installation DC power systems Battery backup systems Telecom power distribution equipment Understanding of AC to DC power conversion within telecom environments Comfortable with extensive travel and project-based assignments Must supply own basic tools, including: Drill guns

Screwdrivers Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
