About the Role As a Lead CNC Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for the successful deployment and lifecycle support of advanced industrial machining systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence for our clients by managing complex installations and providing high-level technical resolution for sophisticated CNC platforms. Responsibilities Direct the end-to-end installation, commissioning, and calibration of large-scale CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers. Execute precision alignment, geometry verification, and leveling to ensure machines meet rigorous performance specifications. Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subsystems. Interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve system failures efficiently. Configure and optimize CNC control systems, servo drives, and spindle performance to maximize machine uptime. Provide expert-level training to end-users on safe operation, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting protocols. Maintain detailed service documentation to track machine history, parts usage, and technical recommendations. Travel to diverse customer sites to deliver professional onsite support and ensure seamless machine integration. Qualifications Required Skills Extensive experience in the installation and field maintenance of industrial CNC machine tools. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480V and complex mechanical assemblies. Strong working knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain. Expertise in precision measurement tools, including lasers, indicators, and electronic levels. Ability to work independently at customer facilities with a high degree of professional autonomy. Preferred Skills Prior experience with multi-axis (5+) machining centers and advanced automation solutions. Deep understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and variable frequency drives (VFD). Proven track record in rigging and heavy machinery positioning. Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer consultation and technical training.
