The position requires strict adherence to customer policies and site protocols, which may include health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Monitor, inspect, set up, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment to minimize downtime Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and implement effective solutions Collect and analyze data related to software issues and coordinate with global engineering teams Accurately document all maintenance activities and generate detailed field service reports Install equipment control software and maintain software revision records Support installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites Monitor service parts inventory to ensure adequate stock for repairs and preventive maintenance Provide training and technical support to junior technicians Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders Escalate complex or critical issues to senior engineering staff when required Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred 1-2 years of relevant experience (Field Service Engineer, Technician, or similar engineering role in semiconductor or related industries) Experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment required Experience with multi-chamber cluster tools and robotics strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics Experience with PLCs and other industrial software applications is a plus Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently after 3-6 months of on-the-job training Capable of determining root causes and following a structured problem-resolution approach Ability to recommend spare parts and consumables for preventive maintenance and repairs Travel & Work Requirements Domestic travel up to 25%; international travel may be required for training Frequent travel within assigned territory Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required Flexible work shifts may be required Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing, walking, typing, and driving (sometimes for extended periods) Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders Strong visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) for inspections, reading, and equipment operation Work performed primarily in a cleanroom environment (full cleanroom attire required) Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, chemicals, lasers, and confined spaces Ability to work in time-sensitive, high-pressure situations Additional Skills Bilingual communication skills (Japanese/English) are helpful but not required
