Compensation:
$40-$45/hour (straight time) + OT (1.5x)
Schedule:
On-call with flexible PTO and pre-approved blackout dates Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Data Center Service Technician with hands-on experience supporting Power Distribution Unit (PDU) systems in data center environments. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment that supports critical server infrastructure.

This is a regional, field-based position supporting multiple data centers within a defined geographic area. The ideal candidate understands the urgency, protocols, and operational nuances of data center environments and is comfortable working independently in high-priority situations. Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PDU systems and associated low- to medium-voltage electrical equipmentRespond to critical service calls in an on-call capacity, ensuring rapid resolution of power-related issuesPerform preventive maintenance (PM) checks on PDU systems and supporting infrastructureMonitor and verify proper electrical load distribution to prevent overload conditionsCollaborate with data center personnel to ensure safe and compliant system operationDocument service activities, findings, and corrective actionsMaintain adherence to all safety standards and data center protocolsTravel & Work StructureRegional travel required (typically within a 3-hour radius)Travel time is fully compensated (from departure from home to return)Use of personal vehicle required (all tools provided on-site)Company credit card provided for fuel and work-related mealsOn-Call & SchedulingThis is an on-call position, requiring availability for urgent service needsTechnicians may schedule PTO and blackout dates (e.g., weddings, personal events) in advanceWhen not on active calls, technicians will focus on preventive maintenance and system monitoringQualificationsHands-on experience with PDU systems (Power Distribution Units)Prior experience working in data center environments (strongly preferred)Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently in time-sensitive situationsValid driver's license and reliable personal vehicleCompensation & BenefitsHourly pay: $40-$45/hour (based on experience)Overtime paid at 1.5xPaid for full travel time (portal-to-portal)Tax advantages associated with the use of a personal vehicleCompany-issued credit card for travel expensesFlexible scheduling with PTO and blackout date allowances
