Job Title:
Maintenance Engineer Job Description The role involves maintaining and operating landfill gas collection systems, ensuring that wells and pumps function correctly. You will use hand and power tools for maintenance and document your findings on a company-provided laptop. The position offers hourly pay and benefits, including a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, laptop, and company uniforms. Responsibilities Maintain gas collection system to meet performance standards through timely and cost-effective operations and maintenance. Perform monthly monitoring of the wellfield, including liquid level measurements in gas extraction wells and monitoring perimeter probes for surface emissions. Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning and maintaining pneumatic pumps, HDPE pipe welding, blower/flare operations, and maintenance of the condensate management system. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards by participating in regular meetings and developing/maintaining operating records. Report field conditions and test results to the supervisor and, in some instances, the client. Essential Skills Mechanical skills Experience with outdoor work and different weather conditions Construction experience Mechanical aptitude Technology and data entry skills Experience with landfill operations, inspection, environmental maintenance repair, hand tools, and Microsoft Office Additional Skills & Qualifications No specific certificates or education requirements are needed for this position. You will work onsite at a 24/7 landfill operation, exposed to the elements with access to a company vehicle for cover or temperature control. Expect to work outdoors for 8+ hours on uneven terrain. The smell of the landfill is sulfur-like and may not be suitable for everyone. The role requires assistance at various locations in Indiana, utilizing the company vehicle. PPE is required, and a $100 Red Wing Boot voucher is provided during the first week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brook, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
