Job Description

Overview:
Electrical Discharge Machining Technician Responsibilities/ Job Requirements:
Dedicated support role with working on world-class CNC machines (EDM technology) with one of the premier machine builders companies in the world. Travel technician opportunity Monday to Friday. 100% travel role but will be focused to be as regional as possible.
Training:
each service technician will undergo approximately 8 to 12 weeks of training. There will also be shadowing sessions with more senior technicians. Utilizing machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and OEM resources to research machine issues
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer regarding status of machine issues, repairs, and installation
  • Promoting and performing preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment and conducting
  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry
  • Perform maintenance and repair of precision EDM wire and die sinker machines.
  • Troubleshoot and correct mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system problems of a high degree of complexity.
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is being provided to the customer.
  • Accurately complete all reports in a timely manner as per service department procedures.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Customer Support Center (CSC) and Regional Service Manager (RSM) as needed to perform job duties.
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Proficient in replacing ball-screws and spindles preferred
  • Proficient in Mechanical, Electrical (AC/DC), Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Multimeters and Computer Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Dial Indicators, Micrometers, Calipers, and Gage Bars.
  • Able to climb ladders and to lift 50 lbs.
