Job Description
Matec Instrument Companies, Inc. seeks a Field Service Engineer/Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain advanced ultrasonic and acoustic measurement systems used for non-destructive testing and materials characterization. In this field-based role, you'll troubleshoot complex instrumentation, perform preventive maintenance, and support system upgrades for industrial, academic, and government customers. You'll collaborate with Matec's engineers and scientists, provide on-site training, and contribute to innovative, high precision solutions deployed worldwide. Travel to customer sites is required. Responsibilities Install, calibrate, and service ultrasonic and acoustic measurement systems at customer sites Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on complex instrumentation and transducers Conduct preventive maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance Train customers on proper system operation, safety, and basic troubleshooting Document service activities, test results, and configuration changes accurately Collaborate with internal engineering and R D teams to resolve technical issues and improve designs Support system commissioning, acceptance testing, and field validation Provide remote technical support and guidance to customers as needed Maintain tools, test equipment, and service documentation in ready condition Travel to industrial, academic, and government customer locations as required Required Skills Field service and on-site customer support Ultrasonic and acoustic measurement systems Non-destructive testing (NDT) fundamentals Electronic troubleshooting and repair Mechanical assembly and alignment Use of oscilloscopes and signal analyzers System installation, calibration, and commissioning Reading electrical and mechanical schematics Technical documentation and reporting Customer training and communication
