Position SummaryAbacus Solutions Group is seeking a Tier 2 Field Service Engineer Journeyman to provide on-site IT support in a federal environment. This role supports end users with hands-on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and network connectivity. This is a customer-facing position requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an office setting.
ResponsibilitiesProvide Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devicesInstall, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers and related softwareSupport basic network connectivity and hardware issuesConnect devices to existing data networksMaintain trouble logs and documentation in ticketing systemsProvide in-person and remote support to end usersPerform minor hardware and software repairsAssist users with proper use of hardware and softwareDocument daily support activities and resolutionsCollaborate with staff and management regarding system needs and improvements Requirements 1 to 2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a desktop or field service environment Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments Experience supporting hardware, software, and peripheral equipment Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users Ability to work independently in an on-site setting High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or higher preferred Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus Security Requirements Must be a US Citizen Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation, obtaining and maintaining Public Trust suitability.
