ABOUT LITESENTRY
LiteSentry, LLC is the world leader in automated optical inspection equipment for the flat glass and plastic industries. We are a growing, energetic company, now combined with Softsolution and Strainoptics, who make related equipment for quality inspection of glass. LiteSentry offers a rewarding work environment with a competitive comprehensive compensation package, including fully paid health insurance, 401K plan, flexible personal days, paid holidays, and performance incentives.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As our Field Service Engineer, you will be the technical face of LiteSentry at customer sites around the world, deploying and supporting our advanced optical inspection systems on active glass production lines. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, combining precision engineering with direct customer engagement across a wide range of industrial environments. This role requires up to 75% travel and is ideal for a self-directed engineer who thrives on problem-solving far from the office and takes pride in getting complex systems running at peak performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, commission, and validate optical inspection systems on customer glass production lines, ensuring performance meets specification before handoff. Perform precision alignment, calibration, and optimization of cameras, lighting, sensors, and vision-based subsystems. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues remotely and on-site, minimizing customer downtime. Integrate systems into customer production networks, including industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP and Profinet. Deliver hands-on training to customer operators and maintenance personnel, enabling them to run and maintain systems confidently. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance visits and respond promptly to emergency service calls, including after-hours situations. Author detailed field service reports, installation records, and customer-facing documentation for each engagement. Serve as a feedback loop between the field and internal engineering, communicating product issues and customer insights that drive continuous improvement. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Perform other miscellaneous duties and/or special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree or technical certificate (minimum 2-year program) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. 3+ years of experience in field service, systems integration, or industrial automation engineering. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and software systems independently in high-pressure environments. Proficiency reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including extended domestic trips. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency to meet daily goals and delivery schedules.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. and maneuver heavy equipment in confined industrial spaces. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and work at heights on active manufacturing floors. Comfort working in industrial environments with heat, noise, and varying light conditions. LiteSentry is a drug-free workplace and a tobacco-free property. LiteSentry is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
