Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy. Bruker AXS is seeking a field service Engineer. As a Field Service Engineer, you perform the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of the Bruker S8 Tiger, S8 Lion, S8 Dragon, S2 Ranger, S2 Puma, S2 Kodiak, and other legacy XRF Spectrometers. Ideal candidates will be located near Buffalo, NY, Syracuse, NY, Cleveland, OH, and generally close to a commuter airport. Responsibilities Install analytical x-ray equipment

Analyze malfunctioning x-ray equipment and determine corrective action, replace faulty components, and make necessary adjustments and alignments

Perform preventive maintenance according to written preventative maintenance procedures

Prepare and submits reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detail

Participate in on-the-job training of field service personnel when required

Suggest methods to offer improvement to equipment performance and functionality

Between assignments be available during normal working hours for immediate response to reassignment and telephone support

Remain in contact with assigned customers to ensure that there are no unreported problems

Promote and maintain service contracts in assigned region

Keep up-to-date on new product and product changes within his/her required sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skills

Conduct all field assignments according to service department procedures

Perform other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisor

Travel to customer locations 75% or higher Qualifications Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of time

Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customers

Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions

Familiarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipment

Familiarity with the use of personal computers

Ability to travel extensively by air and car both domestically and internationally if needed

AA degree in electronics or equivalent experience

Military training in advanced electronics preferred but not required

Three (3) years previous service experience installing and repairing complex electronic systems At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $63,900 and $113,500 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
