Field Service Engineer North Royalton, OH $36-41/HR + OT and per diem Professional Summary We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial strip processing equipment used in the steel tubing and automotive manufacturing industries. This role is responsible for equipment installations, start-ups, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and customer training at facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and occasional international locations. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, enjoys working independently, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced field environment. Field Service Engineer Responsibilities Install, commission, and start up industrial strip processing equipment at customer sites. Perform preventative maintenance, emergency service, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, relays, contactors, solenoids, field wiring, and input/output systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation. Perform mechanical repairs, equipment rebuilding, welding, cutting, and general machine maintenance as required. Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices. Supervise equipment testing, tuning, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve equipment performance. Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, maintenance recommendations, and equipment operation. Provide feedback to management regarding customer satisfaction, equipment performance, and product improvement opportunities. Complete accurate service reports and documentation following each service visit. Travel approximately 75% throughout the United States with occasional travel to Canada, Mexico, and international customer locations. Field Service Engineer Qualifications High school Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Applied Sciences, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered. Experience servicing industrial manufacturing or production equipment. Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and HMI interfaces. Proficiency using multimeters and other electrical diagnostic tools. Welding, fabrication, and machine rebuilding experience is a plus. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365. Ability to work independently in demanding industrial environments. Valid U.S. Passport with no travel restrictions and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. #INDETM
