Job Title:
Field Service Engineer Job Description We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for the installation, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial fan systems at customer sites across North America. This individual will serve as the technical expert on-site, guiding installation crews, maintenance personnel, and customers to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving technical challenges, and can effectively communicate with everyone from business owners and plant managers to installers. Responsibilities Provide technical support for installation, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial fan systems. Serve as the on-site technical expert, guiding installation crews, maintenance personnel, and customers. Ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business owners, plant managers, and installers. Utilize mechanical and electrical aptitude for hands-on tasks involving wires and hand tools. Interpret mechanical drawings and work with heavy-duty equipment. Respond promptly to emergency situations, with a willingness to travel up to 75% of the time. Essential Skills Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. Field service or installation experience, including repairs and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills with a diverse range of customers. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Engineering Tech degree. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience working with heavy-duty equipment similar to TLT products. Self-starter attitude with a willingness to lead by example. Work Environment This position involves working with high-profile companies in different manufacturing facilities across North America. The role requires a significant amount of travel, up to 75%, often on short notice in emergency situations. The work environment is fast-paced and provides invaluable engineering experience. The dress code is industry standard, and the position is a foundational step for growth into long-term management positions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $43.27/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
