Senior Field Service Engineer Medical Imaging Equipment

Job Description

The Field Service Engineer III is a subject matter expert on high-end medical imaging systems, operating fully autonomously to resolve the most complex service issues. This senior individual-contributor role serves as technical lead across accounts, systems, and projects, and is the go-to escalation point before OEM involvement is needed. Focus areas include technical leadership, complex problem-solving, and developing others. Key Responsibilities Serve as primary technical escalation point and SME for high-end imaging systems Independently resolve the most complex, novel, or high-impact issues Lead complex installations, de-installations, and relocations, owning full project scope Formally mentor and train
FSE I/II
team members Serve as primary contact for key accounts, building trusted senior-level relationships Drive continuous improvement of service processes and documentation Partner with OEM/vendor teams on advanced escalations Independently perform advanced inspections, maintenance, calibrations, and QA Document work per ISO quality and regulatory standards Model safety and security procedures for the broader team Requirements AS/AA in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Technology, or equivalent military training preferred; Bachelor's a plus 5-8+ years field service experience on medical imaging or comparable equipment Demonstrated expertise across multiple imaging modalities, with depth in at least one Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor others Strong presence and credibility with key accounts Excellent written/verbal communication for high-stakes situations Proficient in MS Office; advanced ERP knowledge a plus Valid driver's license, clean driving record TravelSchedule Up to 75% travel required Participates in and helps coordinate on-call coverage PhysicalEnvironmental Frequent standing, walking, occasional lifting (25-50 lbs) Use of hand/power tools, ESD protection, and PPE as needed Potential exposure to radiation, electrical hazards, and bloodborne pathogens; OSHA and safety compliance required
