The company works with advanced analytical instrumentation and supports customers across a variety of laboratory environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in chromatography and mass spectrometry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced service professional who enjoys working directly with customers, troubleshooting sophisticated instrumentation, and wants a role with a clear path toward future leadership. The Opportunity The Field Service Engineer will support customers throughout the West Coast, spending approximately 50% of their time traveling to customer sites. The primary focus will be on high-end analytical instrumentation, particularly LC-MS, with opportunities to work across multiple leading OEM platforms, including Agilent and Sciex. As the organization continues to expand, this position offers the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and potentially progress into a technical lead or management role. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and qualification of analytical laboratory instrumentation. Primarily support LC-MS and chromatography platforms. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software-related issues. Build and maintain strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted technical resource. Accurately document service activities, repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions. Manage multiple customer requests and prioritize service activities effectively. Qualifications Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, or similar technical role supporting analytical laboratory instrumentation. Strong hands-on experience with LC-MS, HPLC, chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical instrumentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working independently while managing a West Coast customer territory. Willingness to travel approximately 50% Ability to manage multiple customer relationships and service priorities.
