The Military Division of Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a Field Service Engineer covering customer locations in the following primary territories: Chicago IL, Philadelphia PA, Las Vegas NV [

Interviews begin in September and will take place on-site in Orlando FL. Training classes will begin in January/February 2027. A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Engineering Technology), or turbine experience (or similar), are highly preferred and will give you a huge advantage over other candidates!

$72,000-100,000K base (DOE) during 1st year/on-the-job training (15 weeks of training in Orlando FL and Houston TX

  • additional stipend for housing, and reimbursement for mileage to Orlando [can cash mileage $ in for flight instead if desired]) 2nd
Year:

potentially $130,000 +, based on seasonal options; salary adjustment is based on "at will" hours you sign up for. This pushes everything toward OT hours as you are working in between months off.

Typically 200-250 days per year, for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time. First year (beginning Jan/Feb 2027) is a rotational program with three 4-month assignments, which consist of engineering and manufacturing along different company product lines. This direct exposure to multiple product lines in the power generation industry will help assure a well-rounded view of the many career opportunities offered within the organization.

What You Will Do:
  • Travel to power plants across the country, and where employees are responsible for the maintenance and upgrades to electrical generation machinery (gas turbines, steam turbines and generators.)
  • Will work directly with staff of FSEs to develop skills that include equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership and business systems.
  • Post
  • training, will supervise technicians and mechanics working on turbine generator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (both planned and unplanned system outages.)
  • Responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling turbines and generators. Role will require you to ascend and descend ladders to examine equipment, positioning yourself in confined spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances, and share cramped office trailers with other employees.
  • Coordinate the upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems on turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency.
  • You must enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want a career that combines engineering, travel, teamwork, and hands-on work.
Education and Work Experience:
  • at least 4 years of Active Duty U.S. Military Leadership experience required
  • Polished LEADER; proactive and driven is KEY!
