Job Description

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER EI&C

We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer with basic knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) to support equipment installation, service, and customer assistance. This hands-on role is ideal for a developing engineer who can learn quickly, communicate effectively, and support customers both remotely and on-site. When not traveling, the position is based at our San Antonio, Texas office and demonstration facility. Why Join Us?

Ownership and Support:

Take initiative, follow up on service cases, and contribute directly to customer satisfaction.

Technical Learning:

Gain exposure to industrial automation technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, drives, and control systems.

Regional Exposure:

Work from San Antonio while supporting customer sites with 30-60% travel across North America, plus occasional training trips to Germany or Mexico.

Responsibilities:

1. Support equipment installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs. 2. Communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of service cases. 3. Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues Requirements & Qualifications 1.

Education:

Technical diploma, or equivalent hands-on technical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related fields. 2.

Experience:

1 to 3 years of technical service, maintenance, manufacturing, testing equipment, or automation-related experience. 3.

EI&C Knowledge:

Basic understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and controls concepts is preferred. 4.

Automation & PLC Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of PLCs and ability to read existing programs for troubleshooting. Exposure to Beckhoff, Siemens or Allen-Bradley is a plus. 5.

HMI, Drives & Networks:

Basic familiarity with HMIs, drives, and industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP is preferred. 6.

Robotics:

Basic understanding of industrial robotics or willingness to learn robotic systems such as Stäubli, Mitsubishi, or KUKA. 7.

Troubleshooting:

Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with strong logic, and problem-solving ability. 8.

Location & Travel:

Willingness to travel 30-60% for customer site visits. When not traveling, work from the San Antonio office and demo facility. 9.

Soft Skills:

Self-motivated, proactive, organized, and able to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams. Strong PC skills required.

Pay:

$79,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
